Today, two-thirds face an uncertain future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Britain gave the world so many gifts: Parliamentary democracy. The rule of law. The steam engine. The railway. The World Wide Web. Shakespeare. Darwin. The Beatles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ideas that reshaped civilisation. Inventions that changed how humanity lives. Cultural treasures that endure across centuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Britain also gave the world something much more important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our dogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the hills of Wales to the Scottish Borders and the farms of England, British dog breeds were shaped by landscape, labour and loyalty. They are not trends. They are fragile threads in our national tapestry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If regulation becomes blunt or cultural context is ignored, fragile threads snap first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How the Process Works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We submit a formal Expression of Interest outlining the cultural, historical and practical significance of ethical home breeding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We demonstrate active community support through named signatories and documented evidence of knowledge transfer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The submission is assessed against cultural safeguarding criteria.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why We Need You<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Living Heritage status cannot be claimed by one voice.
