On Sunday 29 March<\/strong>, something rather special will be happening at the Kennel Club Building in Stoneleigh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Great Dane Breeders\u2019 and Owners\u2019 Association<\/strong>, the club is hosting a public event called National Great Dane Day<\/strong> \u2014 a full day dedicated to celebrating one of the most iconic breeds in the dog world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Running from 10am to 4pm<\/strong>, the event is free to attend<\/strong> and open to anyone curious about these magnificent dogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All eight other Great Dane breed clubs<\/strong> are supporting the celebration, making it a true gathering of the Great Dane community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But beyond celebrating one breed, the event highlights a wonderful idea the Union of Good Dog People<\/strong> believes deserves to spread much further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if every dog had its own day?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A \u201cMeet the Breed\u201d Event \u2014 Focused on One Dog<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The day will have a similar feel to the familiar \u201cDiscover Dogs\u201d events, but with one key difference:
everything will revolve around a single breed<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors will be able to meet knowledgeable owners, breeders and enthusiasts through a series of themed stands covering:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Finding a\u00a0responsible breeder<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Raising and\u00a0socialising a Great Dane puppy<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Training and behaviour<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Feeding choices<\/strong>, including raw versus complete diets<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Key\u00a0health considerations<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    There will also be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • A\u00a0children\u2019s quiz<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Trade stands<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n

      As the organisers put it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
